It’s Allin a Name Connie Frick has made some big changes recently. First, she’s moved from Purchasing to become the new Production Assistant in the Centre for Educational Technology. She is now responsible for scheduling video-conferences and general distance learning support duties, as well as reception and dispatch of CET trouble calls for all three campuses. In another switch, she’s changed her name, and will now be known as Connie Bolton. Hey, it’s Lou Rene Bet on Betsy The winner of October’s 60/40 Draw is Betsy Bruyere, who receives $796.80 while student aid increases by $531.20. In another name change at the New Westminster Campus, Centre for Sport, Recreation and Wellness Director Betty- Lou Hayes will now be known as Lou Rene Legge. Staff Changes Joining the ranks of regular staff in Finance are Cathy Luke, as Accounts Payable Clerk, and Kristen Conboy, as Accounts Receivable Clerk. Across the hall, Sheila Braun moves to become a regular Purchasing Clerk, replacing Barb Thompson, who will move to DVST on her return from maternity leave. In more DVST changes, Rosita Wan becomes Departmental Assistant, as Gloria Kummerfield moves to the David Lam Campus as Student Servives Clerk. Many of you have already met Brent Gahzban, a new Computer Technician, while Mihaela Cotiga joins that department as Systems Analyst. In the Registrar’s Office, Lorraine Falardeau is again on regular staff. So what was key to winning for the best print ad series in the Pacific Northwest? According to the NCMPR, “The writing, graphics and layout are very good. It’s eye catching and gets the message out.” The economical but dramatic black and white ads were produced entirely in-house, from concept, writing, and photography (using Theatre students as models) to design. 12
