TO: me “ne DOUGLAS COLLEGE BOARD DOUGLAS COLLEGE |jine 29, 1985. ARCHIVES agreement for the provision of educational services to adult students. As of September, 1986, we will be working in common facilities, and co-operating as a team for the provision of adequate services for adult learning in that school district. Further reports on this endeavour will be presented as staff work continues. On June 17th, Mr. Trerise and I attended an informal meeting dealing with the concept of lower mainland rationalization, involving the four lower mainland community colleges, and the Justice Institute. Internal Matters - Personnel Our Personnel Department has organized two significant educational events this month - a workshop for administrative personnel on Sexual Harassment, and the implications of new statutory provisions; and an all-day pre-retirmenent workshop for Douglas College personnel and Spouses. In each case, the workshops were excellently organized, and will prove to be beneficial for Douglas College personnel. Clearly, the highlight of the month in the personnel area has been the agreement by the Negotiating teams of the D/KFA and Douglas College on the recommendation for settlement. While the negotiations leading to this agreement have been extraordinarily lengthy and time consuming, they have resulted in an equitable agreement, and the maintenance of a mutually respectful and considerate relationship. Internal Matters - General I am informed by Dr. DellaMattia, that applications for registration at Douglas College are running significantly ahead of last year's level, thus allowing us to predict a continuing lively interest in Douglas College by citizens in our region.
