Project: Objective(s): Time-line: Terms of Reference: Organizational Review of Applied Programs of Douglas College To review the organizational structure of the Applied Programs Division in order to determine the adequacy of that structure as it relates to the practicalities and needs of current day-to-day operation and those of the foreseeable future. To be concluded by September 30, 1986. To make recommendations, if any, which would meet the mandate as specified in the objective statement. 1) To achieve and maintain the Douglas College Five-Year Educational Plan as confirmed by the Ministry of Post-Secondary Education. 2) Assessment and any subsequent recommendations to be based upon organizational and structural review and should not be influenced’ by personnel considerations. 3) Structural recommendations to ensure no more than two levels of management between the Division Head and the line teacher or faculty member. 4) To determine whether present management and supervisory titles are appropriate or whether different titles might be more appropriate ‘ jn meeting the needs of the structure. 5) The basic organizational unit - the program be left essentially intact. The determination of what is a "program" is left to the judgment of the project team.
