SECOND LETTER OF UNDERSTANDING

im RESPECTING
LABORATORY TECHNICIANS AND EDUCATIONAL PLANNERS

WHEREAS:
The Douglas College Faculty Association, Local 62 of the
British Columbia Government Employees’ Union and Douglas
College did, on July 8th, 1975, sign a Letter of Understanding
which provided that some sixteen positions of technicians II
and III were not covered by the provisions of either of the
Collective Agreements between the parties, unless and until
a ruling of the Labour Relations Board so determines;

AND WHEREAS:

The affected employees are suffering hardship as a result of
a lack of pay adjustment while the cost of living is rising

significantly;

THEREFORE, it is agreed and covenanted by the. parties above stated that

an interim payment of $600.00, less deductions, be made to each of the
employees presently on staff and mentioned in the said Letter of Under-
standing, and further that an additional interim payment of $100.00 per
month be made beginning October |, 1975, and continuing until the Labour
Relations Board has made its ruling. These interim payments shall be
deducted from the proceeds of any settlement made pursuant to a Collective
Agreement after the Labour Relations Board renders its decision.
