This pronouncement has come in the wake of another two gang related murders on November 6, 2007. The victims, Ronal Shakeel Raj, 31, and Ali Abhari, 25, were shot and killed after their silver Mercedes was crowded by a pair of SUVs. The alleged killers got out of the SUVs and sprayed the Mercedes with bullets. Their deaths were the ninth and tenth confirmed gang-related slayings this year, adding to a total of 19 Lower Mainland killings that are known to be or resemble gang murders. Both casualties of the attack were known to the police. Abhari was facing a number of charges at the time of his murder. Described as a “maniac,” by police, Abhari is said to have had numerous enemies and affiliations with many gangs. Police believe he was killed for repeated treachery against several gangs. In the wake of the recent killings, police are now calling for extra funding in order for them to effectively combat gangs. “We are overwhelmed with the number of people out there that are involved in drug trafficking and are involved in gun violence.” Said Bob Rich, a deputy chief in the Vancouver Police Department. The latest killings are believed to be the most recent incidents in a gang war presently being waged between the United Nations Gang, the Independent Soldiers faction, and another gang being run by a Fraser Valley family. The initial clash between the gangs LZ Gang Violence Ravages BC is believed to have taken place after an infamous crack house was firebombed. The second occurrence happened on October 10 of this year, when Dylan Becker, 38 was shot dead on the 9400- block of King George Highway. Becker was known as a lifelong criminal to police. This was followed up by the horrific October 19 massacre of six people in a Surrey apartment penthouse. at ~~ 1 Fa all heavily involved in drug trading. Ethnic Feuds Find a New Home Other gang and drug-related killings continue to play out elsewhere. On November 4, prominent gang member Hong Chao “Raymond” Huang was killed in front of his massive Shaughnessy home. It is currently believed that the murder took place in front of Huang’s “Police have calculated that there may be as many as 125 organized criminal organizations currently operating in BC.” This was particularly tragic, as two of the people killed, Chris Mohan, 22, and Edward Schellenberg, 55, were innocent bystanders. The other four victims, Ryan Bartolomeo, 19, Corey Lai, 21, Michael Lai, 26, and Edward Narong, 22, were 10-year-old daughter, who then phoned the police to inform them that her father had just been shot. Huang was a member of the Big Circle Boys gang. The Big Circle Boys are a notorious Asian gang. They originated in China and { FM a rs are among the remaining members of the infamous Communist Red Guard, who under orders from former Chinese leader Mao Zedong, terrified and butchered many Chinese scholars and wealthy class members during the Chinese Cultural Revolution. After Mao died in 1976, most of the Red Guard members were sent to camps to be “re-educated.” At many of these deadly camps, they were tortured and starved. Due to their terrifying reputation and military skill, a number of them escaped and made their way to Hong Kong, where they either obtained or forged fake documents that got them to Canada. After infiltrating many major Canadian and American cities, the Big Circle Boys have established themselves as lethal and dangerous force, with a strong penchant for violence. Some of their many crimes include drug trafficking, by far their most profitable enterprise. As Vancouver is a port town, it has been easy for the Big Circle Boys to ship heroin here from China. They also sell cocaine, ecstasy, and marijuana grown and made right here in BC. Another business that the Big Circle Boys are involved in is loan sharking. Their loan sharks hang around casinos all over Canada and the United States, where they charge outrageous interest rates for gambling money. The Big Circle Boys are also known to run a variety of profitable credit card and money fraud scams. They have stolen vehicles on this continent and then shipped them out to Asia for redistribution on the black market. Another facet of their criminal empire is smuggling people into Canada. Many of China’s poor pay astronomical
