(The Department of Public Works recently purchased 24.4 acres of land from New Yestminster for $700,000 and Nouglas College will lease this Property as well as most of the adjacent 23-acre site owned by the Provincial Government. The acreage in question is at Cumberland Street, 6th Avenue and McBride Blvd. where approximately one-sixth of the consolidated parcel is expected to be used for a hospital with the remainder to be developed as a permanent campus in the multi-campus system.) In concluding, Dr. Ceresney said: "When you consider that we have 5 new members as school trustees, and 3 new Government appointees, the first major task is the setting of priorities for the most effective use of College Council time. Moreover, we must also re-examine the most appropriate use of time for those now serving on Council committees." To this end, Council members will host a series of day-long workshops to examine the Council's role for 1974 and to acquaint all new members with past accomplishments, current administrative procedures, and future plans. Of the 15 member Council, 7 are Government Appointees and 8 represent the 8 School Districts of the College Region. Returning trustees are Mrs. I. Elliott, Richmond; Dr. F. Ceresney, Langley: and Mr. C.J. Murnane of Burnaby. New Trustees include, Mrs. H. Casher, Maple Ridge; Dr. W. Fidgeon, Surrey; Mr. F. Gingell, Delta; Mr. i'm. Johnstone, Coquitlam; and r. 7.G.
