Humanities 130

| had the privilege of taking
Humanities 130 this semester. The
course was stimulating and infor-
mative and well worth taking. I'd
like to share several observations
and comments.

1. The designers of the course
should be commended for
creating a course that not only
introduces students to many
disciplines, but also presents
current issues that affect us.

2. We have a wealth of interesting,
committed faculty members who
are involved in a variety of
projects and associations out-
side of the college. We learned
about pollution in the lower
Fraser river, offshore oil
drilling, the history of the
opera Aida,
preneur,
affected attitudes of third
world countries, the use of
animals in research, etc. It
has been exciting to be exposed
to such a range of ideas.

3. This type of course demands a
different approach to learning

I'd like to thank all faculty who
lectured and made the course inter-
esting. Terry Farrell, course
coordinator, deserves special recog-
nition for his personable intro-
ductions to each discipline and to
each presenter.

students must be willing to sit
back, be open to all topics, and
learn for the sake of learning.
There is no final exam or
mastery test to motivate
regular attendance.
