INSIDE DOUGLAS COLLEGE / JULY 17, 1990 Lillian Zimmerman Continuing Education administrator applauds Weekend College Letter to the Editor: I was happy to see the announcement regardirlg Weekend College (Inside, July 3, 1990). This confirms the Continuing Education Department’s experience regarding the needs of part-time students to study on weekends. Our weekend offerings have grown to a significant degree. In the 1989-90 Fall and Spring semesters, we offered 39% of our some 600 courses on weekends. During the forthcoming semesters (Fall and Spring 1990/91) this figure will be upped to 50%. This provides strong confirmation of the needs of part-time students to have education- al services available to them at times outside of “traditional” hours.
