TO: FROM: ALL COLLEGE PERSONNEL BILL DAY Following this note, is the formal statement of policy relating to the newly formed Douglas College Foundation. This was approved at the regular meeting of the Douglas College Board in April. , In summary, the Foundation has been formed to encourage and support College and community related activities that are not citecry funded by tax money. : While there is no limit on the nature and size of donations that can be received and managed by the Foundation, and all donations can be specified for purpose, the Douglas College Board has re- quested that the Foundation Board pay particular attention at this time to the need for student assistance, bursaries and scholarships, the arts, and athletics/recreation. The operations of the Foundation are intended to support and encourage activity within the College calculated to increase community support for our activities. Organizations and individuals within the College wishing to avail themselves of the support and assistance of the Foundation, and wishing to work in cooperation with it, are encouraged to contact Bill Day or Randi Duke.
