Kristina Cutor, piano Noon Hour Musical Tradition Continues at Douglas College Tic musical tradition continues this spring as the Noon at New West concert series enters its four- teenth year at Douglas College. Music Instructor Henry Waack says the emphasis on varicty keeps it continually fresh, and this spring will be no different. “We have different styles of music, ranging from classical to jazz. Ihe Noon at New West series was desiyned to give Douglas Col- lege music students exposure toa Wide range of music, and has grown into a musical tradition in New Westminster over fourteen years. Waack, the co-ordinator of the series, has negotiated over 250 concerts during that time “It’s quite demanding on top of my teaching, but even after four- teen years of being involved, it is sull very valuable and interesting for me,” says Waack. “I’ve gotten to know the musical community iInand out of the lower mainland very well.” On bebruary 7, Waack himself will take the stage to provide plano accompaniment to the well- known soprano Fiona Blackburn.
