Open House for newly-named @Centre for Educational Technology purred by the reorganization that changed them from the Instructional Media Services to the Centre for Educational Technology (CET), the newly minted CET is holding an Open House for faculty and staff on Wednesday, February 28 from 10am to 2pm. The Open House - the department’s first ever - is intended to show faculty and staff the capabilities of the CET and the services it offers. Attendees will be given a map of the CET offices and invited to wander through at their leisure. In the works are presentation software demos, while the sound, photo, and television studios will be open for exploration. Two rooms will be set up to demonstrate the College’s long-distance video conferencing technology. As a convenience to those who attend, the ID system will be up and running to create current ID cards for whomever needs them. In general, the CET is responsible for creating educational materials and providing educational support for Douglas College. This includes providing training for faculty, staff and students, where CET staff serve as consultants, producers and troubleshooters for media projects.
