INSIDE DOUGLAS COLLEGE / August 20, 1991 Grab your crazy hat Besides offering a pair of Canucks tickets as a door prize, they'll be serving Bavarian smokies, sauerkraut, beer and hamburgers; so what else could they call it but Octoberfest in August? The Douglas College Recreation Committee helps kick off the fall semester with a barbecue on Thursday, August 29 from 3pm-8pm at the Douglas Room. Tickets (for food only) cost $5 in advance, available from your fieldbase secretary, or $8 at the door. Guests are also invited to wear a crazy hat to get you into that oom-pa-pa mood. The Recreation Committee plans to present one event per month for Douglas College employees, their families and friends. The committee features Dawn Makey, Dave Dalcanale, Gloria Kummerfield, Shirley Farrell, Heather Campbell and Betty Lou Hayes. Conform to form This is an important notice for all employees submitting travel expenses to Douglas College. The Accounting Department reminds employees to use the Request To Attend Conference or Course forms (G2557) when requesting travel expense reimburse- ment. The obsolete form, Request To Travel Outside Lower Mainland and the Island (P4203) will not be accepted. Submissions should be made on correct form to Melody Ezart in Accounts Payable. Shutter show set Get focussed, take your best shot and see if it clicks. Staff, faculty and students are invited to enter the “I Shutter To Think” photog- raphy exhibit sponsored by the Douglas College Arts Advisory Committee. The theme is People, Places and Things, with selected photos on display in the theatre and library foyers from Sept. 18 - Oct. 30. An awards reception will be held on Sept. 24. Entries may be dropped off outside the library from 10am - 2 pm on Sept. 5; photos not selected for the show may be picked up 10am - noon on Sept. 6. People’s Choice Award ballots must be submitted by Sept. 24. They will be avail- able at the exhibit.
