Your Participation Counts! Yu can participate in Environment Week by attending the presenta- tions, visiting the concourse display, and by making a commitment to improve one aspect of your environment. You can... Attend the tree-planting ceremony on Friday, April 12. Location TBA. Bring your own mug — coffee will be 45 cents during the week, or 40 cents if your mug has the word ’recycle’ on it. Take a look at the environmental initiatives ICL (the cafeteria) is taking by reducing, reusing, and recycling. You can help their program by returning dishes, bringing your own mug, and using recycling blue boxes. You can participate in the WOW We-cycle Office Wastepaper program on campus, and the WOW paper drive. Fill your WOW box by Wednes- day, April 10, and leave it in the hallway outside of your office. Paper pick ups will be arranged for April 10 and April 13. The goal is to send one ton of paper for recycling during Environment Week. If you are not already participating in paper recycling, read the WOW How-to Manual in this issue. Car-pool or take public transit this week. Turn the lights out when you leave your classroom or office. Stop using Post-It notes by recycling some of your waste paper into note pads. Use the stairs instead of the elevator. Open curtains to let the sun shine in, and turn the heat down. Forward your suggestions to the Environment Action Committee, in care of Geraldine Murphy, 1300 field base.
