OUTGOING MAIL Frequently, both inter-office envelopes and standard postal envelopes arrive in the College Mail Room overstuffed. In the case of inter- office mail particularly, contents spill from split envelopes and can easily get mislaid in the bottom of mail bags. In the case of out- going mail which is stuffed into envelopes of inadequate size, they not only can spill from unsealed envelopes, but can also be split in handling, and suffer a similar fate anywhere within the postal system. A further problem with such material is the additional time it takes to process by hand. If the mail clerk must search about for spilled documents, repackage and seal bulky envelopes, mail will be delayed. As this problem is increasing, such material may not only be delayed, but returned to the sender if the sender can be determined. Office of origin should be indicated on your mail and will assist the mail room in returning material. Mail which we are unable to return will simply become "dead letter" material. If you care about your mail: * Use adequately sized envelopes * Pack heavy documents, books, etc. in boxes * Letter mail should be sorted as to envelope size and rubber-banded in all campus mail rooms. * pO NOT overstuff inter-campus or mailing envelopes * DO NOT throw heavy and light mailing material together in inter-campus mail bags. Your cooperation in assisting the Mail Room to safely process your mail in timely fashion will be appreciated. aaenss Ken McCoy INSTRUCTOR EXCHANGE Mr. Michael Roe, and instructor in Business Communication, has expressed interest in an exchange with a college in our Hegron,- He teaches at Humber College, a progressive College of Applied Arts and Technology, sited in an impressive permanent fee1lity.
