Celebration Day for Bill

Friends and colleagues gathered at Douglas College on May S to tell stories about and wish Happy
Trails to retiring President Bill Day. Members of the Day family were present too: (l to r) Fanny
(mother), son Michael, wife Joan, son Gordon, and Bill. Also present that evening, but not in this
photo were daughter Suzanne, daughter Alison Lilly with husband Paul and sister Ann Bonham
with husband Gerry.

Brent Heighton is a Douglas College alumnus and an accomplished artist who generously donated
paintings for the Bill Day Bursary Lottery on May 5. One of his paintings was also given to Bill as
a gift from the College. Seated beside Brent is Myrna Popove, past Board Chair and co-organizer
of the goodbye celebration.
