VISIT OF THE DALAT LAMA His Holiness the Dalai Lama is visiting Buddhist settlements and Tibetans living in the United States and Canada. He has granted an audience to members of the Tibetan Refugee Aid Society on October 6th in Seattle. Faculty and staff who sponsor Tibetan children or old people, or who have contributed to the work of the society are cordially invited to attend the audience. DOUGLAS COLLEGE LIBRARY ARCHIVES 1) Donations of clothing, furniture, bedding and household utensils etc. are urgently required by organisations and groups sponsoring Indo-Chinese immigrants in the College Region. Please deliver contributions to me at Portable A6, Surrey Campus or to my home at 13936 Terry Road, White Rock (at the South end of Nicol Rd./140th St). 2) Locations are needed for collection depots for larger items of furniture, appliances etc. across the region. Please inform me of any suitable buildings available. "BOAT PEOPLE"REFUGEE AID 3) Volunteers are urgently required to help the immigrants upon arrival and during the first weeks of their resettlement. Classroom assistants and home tutors will be needed to assist in the language training program. 4) Donations towards sponsorships undertaken by aid societies are tax deductable. The Tibetan Refugee Aid Society has undertaken to sponsor ten families and urgently needs financial support to achieve this goal.
