Advanced Education Minister Dr. Tom Perry (second from left) officially launched the new Integrated Curriculum Program of Douglas College’s Child, Family and Community Studies Department with a lecture and question and answer session before 200 students and faculty Sept. 10 at the College. Bev Miller (left), Director of Child, Family and Community Studies, and students from integrated curriculum programs helped Perry cut the cake. Pinetree Way planning continuing A series of September meetings took place between College user groups and space planners for the Pinetree Way campus, says Project Manager West Graydon. "We had the initial sessions with representatives of various users in the College. They pro- vided us with information, and took away the kinds of questions that the planners need input from. We are gradually receiving input and feeding it back to the planners. Graydon says that the information is also being provided to the architects, who are begin- ning work on the building blocks of the new campus. "We’re moving in accordance with a schedule that has a beginning and an end. In order to fit within it, we have to move as quickly as possible. We expect to have the space planners’ report to take back to the User Committee by mid-October, which will provide the user groups with a second opportunity to discuss their requirements."
