Delays at busier times will still occur and rudeness and abuse will only still further reduce service. Cooperation and understanding of all in appreciating the burden on operators and limitations of any cammunication system loaded to capacity, will be required. Ken McCoy KNOWLEDGE NETWORK TELECAST The Ministry of Education has sponsored a two-part project for instructors of adults to be telecast on the Knowledge Network. The two-part program is based on the Teaching Techniques Series produced by Capilano College. Both parts will "focus specifically on the use of Questioning in classroans, labs and shops". The Douglas College Library has both the Teaching Techniques Series and a videotape of the first broadcast which occurred on October 18. The second broadcast is scheduled for Monday, November 15, 1530 to 1700 hours on the Knowledge Network. Our Library will also be videotaping this second broad- cast should you be unable to view it at the scheduled time. COLLEGE ARCHIVES In preparation for the move to the new building, many people may be cleaning out their files. Please do not forget about the Archives. It would be a great loss if valuable historical materials were to be lost or misplaced in the move. Guideline for transferral of files to Archives are as follows: 1. Faculty, staff and departments should forward to the Archives material which is no longer needed for current use. Files should be examined every two or three years for transferral of mater- ials. No paper, photographs, blueprints, etc. should be discarded without prior con- sideration of their suitability for the Archives. Materials which may be discarded: requests for course information acknowledgements and letter of trans- mittal outdated mailing lists memos about the physical arrangement of meetings details of office management applications for positions notes on interviews with unsuccessful applicants The Archives does not save everything passed on to it. Records are considered to be of permanent value if they are useful for administrative or historical research. Files are kept in acid-free boxes in the same order in which they were received. Findings aids listing the con- tents of the Archives. Materials can normally be used in the Ar- chives room, unless it is confidential. Photocopies can be made of most materials, or in some instances, the originals can be borrowed for a short time. All use is with consent of the Archives Librarian. In order to transfer or use material, con- tact Jean Cockburn, the Archives Librarian, at Winslow, local 20.
