Fibres Festival, April 19 through 28 at Open Space. ¢ in Inst year's successful festival, the focus is on the textile crafts. Weaving, spinning, dyeing stitchery, fabric printing, batik, macrame and many more crafts will be represented, Finres Festival is both a market and an exhibition for good quality textile craft work. As well as a larve sale's area, there will be exhibits ef craft work and craft tools, demonstrations, workshops and an information center dealing with questions about supplies, tools, books, etc. at &pm, there will be a Fibres Performance. Planned | as a celebration of all tynes of body adornment, : traditional, ethnic, theatrical, futuristic, etc, Fibres Performance will call on the resources of a wide rance of people from puppeteers to dancers. Tickets for the performance are $1.90 (which covers later acmicsion to the Festival) and will be avail. able at the door. Pibres has been createc as part of a series of fatra which support the efforts of serious craftspeople to establish an on-poing viable cottage industry aT Bieter with over 80 craftspeople representing many crafts and all areas of the nrovince registered, this year's festival promises to be an exciting and stimulating place to visit.
