The November meeting was neld on the 19th at New Westminster

% campus. 25 people were in attendance. In what was probably tie last
motion ever passed at a College Assembly the role. and function of :
: College Assembly was reaffirmed as that of an information exciange

forum. A corollary to this motion vas also accepted - tnat formalities

 

* such as minutes and frequent motions were unnecessary. Consequently

a secretary was not elected. |

 

Other items discussed were the Faculty Development Proposal

(J. Sellers & N. ‘ansfield) and the "Study of the Learning Fnvironment"

  
 
 
    
  
  

(Ur. Porter). The latter is a Proposal for the creation of quiet .
areas for student to student anc student to faculty interaction at
New Westminster & Surrey Campuses,
College Assembly meetings have not usually been held in December
and January. However, if a sufficient number of items are submitted
a meeting can be called. Please submit any items for discussion to
Marilyn Smith at Surrey Campus.

A meeting of College Assembly will be called for February 4/74.

FINAL EXAMINATION POLICY

 

 

: The following items are part of the final exam policy passed
by Principal's Council last year and are enumerated here for
your convenience.

1. That no classes are to be held during the final
examination period (December 195. 20, 21ys

2. That no examinations which exceed one hour in
length be administered during the two week period
(10 consecutive class days) preceding the final
examination period.

3. That grades for final examinations not exceed 30%
of the final grade.

4, That ary examinations given in class during the
two week period preceding the final exam period
be restricted to an maximum of 10% of the final

} ecrade.

2. That ne €xamination for any course be given
during the 2 weeks’ prior to the Exam period
OUTSIDE OF THE REGULARLY-SCHEDULED CLASS: HOURS
for that course.

6. That the Department Chairmen be authorized to erant
exemptions from the above.
