Ann Coulter is an idiot and isn’t even that attractive

think it’s an absolute travesty that
University of Ottawa students would
try and shut down a recent speech
by ultra-conservative commentator Ann
Coulter. To try and use radical means to
counter the views of Coulter was wrong,
idiotic, and totally harmful to free speech;

5 because with their actions, they’ ve

suddenly made Ann Coulter relevant
again.

For those of you who’ve never heard
of Ann Coulter (you lucky bastards),
she’s basically the devil. She’s a far-
right provocateur who spews racism,
homophobia and general ignorance about
all manner of topics (she once insisted,
without irony, that Canada fought in
the Vietnam War). And despite all this,
she’s enjoyed unparalleled success as
a writer preaching tothe conservative
choir, who buy her books and celebrate
the filth she spews as a great example of
“free speech.” To them, her racial and
homophobic slurs are just an exercise
of first amendment rights; I guess the
same is true for her calls for Arabs to
be marginalized in everyday life. Just
exercising her rights.

But that was so 2008. Since those
days she’s been pretty much invisible
on the national scene. Aside from a few
appearances on Fox News and a few
speaking engagements, we haven’t heard
much from Ann—thank God—until her
Canadian speaking tour started.

It was supposed to be a low-key
thing, attended by only Ann Coulter’s
most ardent supporters and other assorted
conservative thugs. It should’ve lasted a
few weeks and then she’d be out of our

country and back to the hellscape that
bore her.

But no, a few dumbasses at the U of
O had to shut down one of her speeches
by making threats and causing a ruckus.
I’m pretty sure their threats of violence
qualify as a legitimate exercise of the
freedom of expression on Coulter’s level,
but regardless, the event was shut down,
the news media ran with the story, and
now here we are, living in a cruel, cruel
world where Ann Coulter is someone we
have to hear about again.

So, gentle reader, and Canadians
everywhere, in fact, here is what I’m
asking of you: stop paying attention to
Ann Coulter. Forever. Ignore the idiotic
things she has to say, ignore the hate she
preaches, ignore the fact that she has a
bigger Adam’s apple than any man you’re
ever seen. Try your best, because it will
be hard, especially that Adam’s apple
thing—it’s really weird.

Remember, the things she says have
no redeeming value; despite what the
Ezra Levants of the world think, hate
speech does not qualify as a valuable
expression of free speech. It’s just horse
shit, and the only way it will go away is
if we collectively say, with pride in our
voices, “Ann Coulter? Who the hell is
she?”

So, readers, let’s get ready for a
world where Ann Coulter has no more
relevance. Are you ready? Start ignoring
her... now!
