They are 1 1/2 credit, seven-week courses. g if Courses consist of two hours a week classroom presentation & discussion, an one hour a week of lab work. LAS COLLEGE Reading Development is not remedial, but is intended for students who have many text books to read & need to be more efficient in selecting the main points § remembering them. Comprehension is stressed and increased rate should result from the ability to effectively recognize and organize the -content of reading material. Study Skills is a how-to course in improving time utilization, listening skills, note-taking, concentration and remembering. Considerable emphasis is also placed on how to prepare research papers and take exams. Introductory Reading Skills, a more basic course for students reading below a college level, and College Library Research will also be offered.
