Garfield Weston Merit Scholarship: Carrie Whitworth is the first Douglas College student to win the Garfield Weston Merit Scholarship, a regional scholarship worth $4000. Her first-year GPA in the Classroom and Community Support Worker Program was 3.90. She was cited for her passion for working with people and making a difference in society. iL ADA SCHIMIDTON & Canadian Millennium Scholarship, In-Course Award: Milada Schmidtova of the Community Social Service Worker Program won a Canadian Millennium Scholarship worth $4,000 for academic excellence and community commitment. Her first-year GPA was 3.57 and she did volunteer work with the Inland Refugee Society.
