Hockey If Stewart Wright has his way, the Douglas College hockey team will be hot contenders in the Canadian Collegiate Championship games this coming season. Wright, recently appointed as the new coach of the Douglas College Royals, will be scheduling tryouts this coming week and hopes to have the team out practising by the end of the month. "I'm looking for talentfirst, mental attitude second and the ability to play as a team member," says Wright, who has worked with the B.C. Junior Olympic team and has even coached hockey in Australia. And now after coaching Bantam A hockey for the last two years, Wright is looking forward to moving onto college hockey. "At the moment I'm really fed up with minor hockey," says Wright. "I've coached for eight years; I have my level four in coaching and they still won't give me the team I want. Other Changes But though Wright is one new addition to the Royals, there have been other changes. Two berths have been awarded to the B.C. branch of the Totem league, which will see two B.C. teams going into the Nationals, and the University of Washington, out of Seattle, has now entered the club, replacing Fraser Valley. The Royal's season begins on November 2 in Seattle against the new team, with their first home game scheduled on November 9 at the Port Moody Arena at 8:00 p.m. Mad Hatter Page 4 ASA and the OGEDEMGBE DRUMMERS Nigerian Drum Concert with a commentary on Nigerian Folk Music.
