e College on display

Two new display units are now
available for College promotion. The
larger of the two units is an eight-foot tall,
pop-up, curved display unit suitable for
any general College promotion intended
to remain on display for more than a few
days. Because of its size, another smaller
unit was also purchased. The smaller unit
is very easy to transport and set up, and is
designed for table-top displays. To book
either of the two new units, or the old
one, please call the CMO at local 5326.

« Do you know a woman
of distinction?

Vancouver YWCA Women of
Distinction will be recognized at a gala
awards dinner, May 15, 1997 at the Hyatt
Regency Hotel. Nominations are now
being taken for women who display.
ongoing, significant commitments to
society, in their neighborhood, across the
country or internationally, in their fields
of endeavor and beyond. Award
categories include arts and culture;
‘ommunications and public service;
education, training and development;
entrepreneurship and innovation; health
and wellness; management; professions
and trade; recreation, sport and active
living; science and technology; volunteer
work; and young women of distinction.
Deadline for nominations is 5 pm,
February 7, 1997. For more information

:@ Sports appreciation
Nominations are now being taken for
the Sixth Annual Investors Sports
Administrators Awards. The awards
honor coaches and administrators at all
levels of amateur sports, and will be given
at the Sixth Annual Investor’s Community
Coaching Conference on January 25. The
conference also includes lunch, door
prizes, exhibits and a keynote address by
well-known Sports psychologist Dr. David
Cox. Registration is $10; bring a friend
for free with your payment. For more

The Douglas College Library recently
added over 200 titles to its video
collection, with topics ranging from
children and aging to the environment and
criminology. The additions also include
26 feature films. The computer catalogue
has the full list, including descriptions
and locations. Bookings can be made in
person at the A/V desk, or by calling local
5186 at the New Westminster Campus or
5833 at David Lam.

Sciences, has published a unique but
practical cookbook with more than 120
recipes for the tropical drupe Cocus
nucifera (AKA coconut). The book also
includes information and anecdotes “from
hard data to the frankly frivolous.” To
