That’s the invitation to stu- dents, staff and faculty at Douglas College by organizers of the 20th Anniversary Celebra- tion planned between September and June of 1990. The theme of the celebration is "20 Years of Making A Dif- ference," says Gordon Gilgan, Dean of Academic Studies and chairman of a special 20th An- niversary Steering Committee. It’s fitting, he says, because the College has "come a long way in 20 years." "The people that have helped Douglas College make a dif- ference are the faculty and staff, the students and the com- munity," says Gilgan. “We're asking all of them to help celebrate." The 20th year anniversary has over a year, and several college- wide events and projects have already been approved in prin- ciple by both the Steering Committee and a Management Committee. So far, the events include a homecoming weekend spon- sored by the Alumni Association, a Douglas Day Celebration, an open house, a special 20th Anniversary Graduation Ceremony and a "20 Years of Making a Difference" historical perspective of Douglas College.
