_ Mo: At this time of the year it’s usually traditional to select a few well-chosen words about the end of summer and the transition to fall. However, as everybody who opted for August holidays knows all too well, this year autumn actually started in the third week of July. News stories out of Alberta reported leaves turning crimson in mid-August and in B.C. it rained, rained, rained. We can hardly wait to see what happens in November. Anne says thanks During the summer, College staff tossed a surprise party for Anne Fenton of Accounting, the outgoing BCGEU Chair, as thanks for her service. Now that we’re all back, Anne sends her own words of thanks. It is difficult and emotional to respond to the many kind thoughts expressed by Peter Sanderson, Marian Exmann, Barb Offen and others who spoke to me. Space being limited, I’m unable to say all I feel but I want to express my heart-felt gratitude for the gifts and many kind comments. Along with the bracelet and sweatshirt, I was given memories that will always be cherished. You, each and everyone, are very special people who make Douglas College what it is and I’m very proud to be one of you. My sincere thanks.
