June WLD/jg 18, 1987 Internal Matters - Personnel , Cont'd I have received a stage three grievance from the Douglas and Kwantlen Faculty Association, regarding position on salary scale of a temporary instructor. The College has received the report of the arbitrator in the case of a grievance involving contract personnel hiring processes. The arbitrator has found for the Douglas College Faculty Association. As soon as we have completed a review of the finding, we will be consulting with the Douglas and Kwantlen Faculty Association regarding appropriate action and processes for the future. Negotiations between Douglas College and the Douglas and Kwantlen Faculty Association on a new agreement have ceased. It is my understanding that discussion will likely re-commence in two to three months time. Installation of word processing equipment, using our new main-frame computer, is in process. A number of terminals have been installed, and some of our staff have completed the first part of their training on the new equipment. I look forward to considerably improved services once the complete cycle of installation and training has been completed, in about a year's time.
