DOUGLAS COLLEGE LIBRARY NORTHWEDSI ANTHROPOLOGICAL CONFERENCE FIRST CALL FOR PAPERS Tne 28th Annual Northwest Anthropological Conference will be held March 27-29, 1974 in Seattle, Washington, hosted by Seattle Central Community College and the Wash- ington Archaeological Society. Abstracts for papers will be accepted through February 28th and shoujd be limited to 100-200 words. Please note any audio-visual equipment you might need. Site reports will be limited to ten (10) minutes and contributed papers to twenty (20) minutes. Depending upon the number of participants, concurrent sessions may be scheduled. Students are encouraged to submit papers for presentation at the conference. Two cash prizes ($50 each) will be awarded for. outstanding papers. Finished copies of papers submitted for the competition should be sent to the Conference Chairman no later than March 7. The panel of judges will be announced in January. Prize winning papers will be published in Northwest Anthropological Research Notes, NARN. Registration and meetings will be held at the Seattle Central Community College campus on the fourth floor.. Registration, beginning at 9:00 a.m., March 27th, will cost $5.00 with a special rate ($2.50) for students. The first session will commenc: at 1:00 p.m., March 27, and run through Saturday, March 29th. The enclosed accomodations questionnaire gives information on the hotels closest (5-6 blocks) to Seattle Central Community College. There are many hotels in Seattle and a number of participants may want to make other arrangements. Bus service from the downtown hotel area to SCCC is excellent. Parking is scarce.
