Douglas College English instructor
Maurice Hodgson has done a number of inter-
views for a CBC series Between Ourselves
which will be aired on Nov. 12.

___ The interviews were based on a book
written by Maurice and published by Hancock
House last year, entitled The Squire of
Kootenay West. ©

The hour-long show will be a radio
portrait of H.W. (Bert) Herridge, who was a
federal member of that riding for 23 years

(1945-68), and before that was a provincial
member from 1941-45. ve

. Herridge has been a controversial
Figure in B.C. politics. He was disliked
generally by the brass of his CCF/NDP, but
loved by the people, says Maurice.

__ For anyone interested in listening to
this show, it will be on CBC AM radio (690)
from 7 to 8 p.m., Nov. 12.

Douglas College Libraries on behalf &
of the Council of Post Secondary Library
Directors.is presently involved in compiling
the Union List of Serials of B.C. Colleges.
This project involves adding the colleges’
periodical holdings records to the UBC
Serials Data Base which will then be used
to produce the union list. Work is being
done on-line from a terminal in the Surrey
Campus Library. The project is funded by

the Ministry of Education.
