MAD HATTER SUPPLEMENT PAGE 4A Province of Ministry of Post-secondary Department British Columbia Education 835 Hurnboldt Street Victoria British Columbia V8V 2M4 June 2nd, 1981 Mr. W. Day Principal Douglas College P. ©. Box 2503 New Westminster, B. C. V3L 5B2 Dear Mr. Day: Further to the May 26, 1981, meeting regarding the furnishings and equipment | for the New Westminster building, the following, I believe, summarizes the | further work required by the College. _- It was strongly recommended that the millwork items be included in the costs of the building construction, particularly as these appear to be below budget. The funding request for telephones and refurbishing existing equipment should be placed within the furnishings and equipment request. In addition, we would like the summary request arranged, in a different format. On the principle that program equipment requests should be tied to the program, and not the building, please break-down the summary as follows: For each Program or Activity: 1) Given the current number of students, how much of the request is for replacement, and how much for enhancement of current equipment. 2) For planned expansions, give the number of new stations and the percentage growth (e.g., 20 new, or 40%), and how much of the equipment and furnishing request is related to this. An example is Music. 3) For new programs, give the name, the number of stations and the amount of requested equipment and furnishings. 4) The total of the above, as per your May 26th summary.
