Briefs continued on page 8 Play it again Henry Music Instructor Henry Waack turned 65 in March, and friends from the Music Department helped him mark the occasion with coffeee and cake. Henry, who is retiring this year, will be playing it one more time on May 14-15 in a musi- cal tribute to him called Try To Remember - A Musical Memoir, directed by now-retired D.C. Theatre Instructor Dorothy Jones. The two venerable instruc- tors worked together on many College musical productions, and the best numbers from those productions will be reprised in the show. Watch the May issue of INside for more details, or call Alana Frymire at 5322. & Della Mattia joins AECBC Dean of Human Resources and College Development Dr. Gerry Della Mattia has accepted a secondment for one year to become Executive Director of the Advanced Education Council of British Columbia. The AECBC is a body that represents all colleges and post-secondary institutes and agencies within the province. The appointment begins on May 1, and Della Mattia says he looks for- ward to the challenges of the position in this pivotal time for post-secondary education in B.C. "There are many things happening in the province and across the country that will impact upon community colleges in B.C. As a unifying force representing colleges, I’m excited about the role that the AECBC will play on their behalf to influence those issues," says Della Mattia. a e Beginners’ rock climbing course offered of \ Rock climbing is one of the fastest-growing sports in Canada.
