es MAD HATTER ATHLETICS AND INTRAMURALS WRESTLING T= Douglas College Wrestling Team has once again begun their training in preparation for their tough 1987-88 season. The team is coached this year by two Simon Fraser University graduates, Bill McRae and Rick Dove, who are also former Canadian champions and have represented Canada at the World Championships. Recruiting has gone exceptional- ly well over the summer as several wrestlers who repre- sented Canada at this years Junior Elite World Champion- ships held at BCIT this past summer, are now attending and wrestling for Douglas College. Port Alberni’s Todd Ketterin- gham, Abbotsford’s Rob Elliot and recent SFU transfer Guy Fraser will all use their interna- tional experience as well as former B.C. and Canadian Cham- pionships Dean Musco, Kashimir Aujula, Graham Tuck, Tom Petrysham, and World School Boy place finisher Frank Broz. The team is now looking for some good local talent so anyone with wrestling experience or with aspirations of being a future champion in man’s oldest and greatest sport can work out with the team Tuesdays and Thursdays at 4:00 p.m. in the D.C. combatives room. The first meet is on November 14th hosted by the Douglas College team in the main gymnasium. Action gets un- derway at 10:00 a.m. and spectators are very welcome. HOCKEY TT Douglas College Royals hockey team played two games on the week-end winning the first against CBC 12-3 and nar- rowly losing the second against BCIT 8-7. The Royals are now 2-7-0 in league and exhibition play. Coach Terry Kirstein is looking forward to having two more defensemen after Christmas when players become eligible after passing this term. The Royals next game is Satur- day, November 14th at UBC, 2:00 p.m. and against Cariboo College, November 21st, 8:00 p.m. and November 22nd, 10:30 a.m. at Port Moody arena.
