Foundation Receives New Scholarship Fund for the Arts Performing arts students at- tending Douglas College will benefit from a scholarship fund established by the Arts Council of New Westminster. Using all or part of its annual interest, the $5,000 endowment will provide one or more per- forming arts scholarships for Douglas College students. The amount of the scholarship will be determined annually by the income from investments made by the Douglas College Founda- tion; students will be selected by the Douglas College Scholar- ship and Bursary Committee. "The Endowment will generate at least $500 interest per year, and it’s amazing how far that can go in helping our stu- dents," says Bill Day. “We expect the first cycle of interest money to be issued in October, and we’re grateful to the Arts Council and it president, Alec Webber, for establishing this fund."
