INSIDE DOUGLAS COLLEGE / October 29, 1991 College briefs We changed our name! Seven months ago, the former Department of Social Services and Allied Health became the Department of Child, Family and Community Studies. There has been some confusion over the change, so please make a note of it now so that you can refer to the Department of Child, Family and Community Studies correctly in the future. m Tai Chi anyone? le you’re interested in this graceful soft-style martial art, come down to room 1313 Wednesday, October 30 at 5 pm for a free hour-long demonstration with local instructor Roxanne Chappel. This participatory workshop will open your eyes to your Chi (energy) and help you to learn more about this ancient art. For more information, call Shelley at 3006. = Stamp savers come forward The Alumni Association has started a new fundraising activity. By collecting old stamps and selling them to stamp-collecting retail stores, money can be raised for activities such as the Career Fair, the Alumni newsletter and the new Alumni Sharing Knowledge program. You can help in this activity by cutting or tearing the corner containing the stamp off any envelopes you receive in the mail. Any kind of stamps are welcome, but it is important to ensure that the stamps are not damaged, or they lose their value. Saving your stamps takes a little bit of effort, but the Alumni Association greatly appreciates any help you can provide. If you can help, or if you have any questions, please contact Alana Frymire at 5322. = Oktoberfest in November Pcie is invited as the Douglas College Foundation presents its second annual ‘Oktoberfest in November’ on November 7 from 4pm-7pm in the Douglas Room.
