Local 59 - President, Douglas College Student Society Role of the Committee: Meetings of this group provide for the formal recording of the management activities, transactions, and decisions of Douglas College. General information exchange. Recording of assignment of special tasks by the President to individual members of the committee. Recording of the substance of special tasks, once Recording of the identification of mutual, or college- wide problems, and action to be taken on those problems. Announcement of intended intra-divisional decisions, in order to allow for question and/or intervening advice, prior to final decision by a Dean or Bursar. Documentation in support of agenda items will be attached to the agenda at the time of distribution. Advice and comment from non-voting members is expected and welcomed. Decisions made and recorded at committee meetings will be of three types: (a) Intra-divisional decision by right of office, made by Deans or Bursar. (b) Decisions made affecting two or more divisions of the college, by vote of the committee. Such votes shall have an appropriate intervening time between tabling of the initiative, and the actual vote, in order to allow for assessment of divisional implications by Deans and Bursar, prior to the calling of the vote. A vote shall be binding on the entire administration. (c) When, in the judgment of the President, the voting process would be inappropriate, the President will make a decision which will be binding on the Deans and Bursar.
