Internal Matters - Education

On June 25th, Keith MacPherson of B.C In ovations visited. ie

Enterprise Development.

On June 26th, the Maple Ridge Centre held another successful Pot
_ Luck Dinner in celebration of the accomplishments of the Adult Basic

Education classes in Maple. Ridge.

and the College Sel Study, This latter aoe ivi ty will be a major
focus of activity duri ing he Fall. and Winter months this year. I

On July 15th, I met with the Nursing, Department to di scuss neath

term development plans in the area of Nursing and the healt
professions.

Our Fall registration was: by all ‘accounts, a major ‘success, both
‘in organization, and in the skill with which College staf:
dealt with a very high degree of demand on limited. resources. Dr.
DellaMattia will report further in this regard.

Internal Matters - Personnel

 

Two grievances are currently under review from the ‘BCGEU - e
concerned with the classification of a position as beth within
ve external to the BCGEU, and another one relating to seniority
rights.

 
 
 

 

 

An arbi tration has been scheduled as a result of a grievance lodged
by the Douglas/Kw ntlen Fa ulty Asst ciation regarding p lege
processes for creatir 1-time ‘tempor ry and sessional ‘positions.
