He believes that all in the College community, including faculty, administrators and board members are sadly lacking in initiative and know- ‘ai ledge with respect to the impact of tech- nology in education. Further, most are ill- equipped to deal with realistic policy and action for the present and for a future in which the impact of technology will be even more dramatic. Roger will present an overview of policy responses by colleges across Canada and will give pointed recommendations for the Commun-_ ity College. | ‘Kathleen Forsythe | Prior to joining North Island College as a tutor, Kathleen lived in a small village in | Ireland. While living there, she completed a degree through the British Open University After serving as a tutor at North Island College, Kathleen became Coordinator of Learning Resource Development. She left North Island College to become Executive | Director, Learning Systems for the Knowledge| Network of the West. (KNOW) Kathleen will be talking about "The Integra- tion of Innovation" with specific reference to the impact on learning. She will be focusing on the means whereby innovations of various types (computers in education are just one example) become integrated into our regular processes and, in a sense, then, become the norm, ceasing to be viewed as innovative. Workshops The workshops described on the following two pages are given by the Northwest Program Development and Coordination Centre. Those persons who are interested, should contact Gerry DellaMattia to obtain regis- tration forms.
