Day says the President’s Com- mission will have a wide mandate to study all aspects of campus use. It will review the types of programs and facilities desired by local residents. It will also assess the area’s long-term educational needs by consulting with students, businesses, local governments, col- lege staff, user groups and other community organizations. Public meetings about the cam- pus, which is slated to open in Co- quitlam Town Centre in 1993, will be held in Port Moody on January 8, Port Coquitlam on January 15 and Coquitlam on February 19. There will also be three meetings at the college’s New Westminster campus on January 22, and February 12 and 25. Hearings will be held by the President’s Commis- sion, made up of College staff, stu- dents, and educational and com- munity representatives. Input from the meetings, and from a public questionnaire (available in the college’s spring Access course guide), will be presented ina report with recommendations for campus based programs and ser- vices to the College Board at its March meeting. The President’s Commission wants your input, and would be pleased to receive your ideas about the new Coquitlam campus. Submissions should take the form of a one-page written summary to accompany your oral presentation.
