Reporting to the Africa Americas Director, the Senior Project Officer will be responsible for the administration of selected existing, and the initiation of new, institutional strengthening and human resource development projects with overseas partners of Canadian CEGEPs and College primarily in francophone Africa and, depending on language skills and prior experience, in other countries of Africa, Latin America or the Caribbean. Responsibilitics include project design, implementation and monitoring, liaison activities with CEGEP'’s, CIDA and other funding agencies and overseas institutions and government ministries, the development of regional strategies, provision of leadership at in- Canada development education workshops and the conduct of project feasibility and evaluation missions. The position includes fre- quent travel in Canada and up to three overseas missions per year. Qualifications: Graduation from a recognized university or equivalent. Saying that a Librarian cannot find a portrait of a world figure is like saying a biologist cannot distinguish between insectivores and ruminants (i.e. between bon- sai moles and cows), or that a historian doesn’t know what happened in 1066. The librarians at Douglas Col- lege Library have asked me to write to assure the College com- munity that we CAN find Margaret Thatcher’s portrait, in fact, many different portraits of Margaret Thatcher.
