LANGLEY CAMPUS MAD HATTER PAGE 2 Kwantlen College direction COLLEGE SPLIT At a recent Langley campus meeting, the Langley faculty & staff unanimously en- dorsed the following: "On each campus there be appointed an Executive Assistant (Principal or Vice- Drincipal) to the President of the College. This verson - would be available and responsive to the citizens in the community, the students, staff and faculty on the campus; - would have the responsibility for, and capahility of making day by day decisions regarding the operation of the campus; - would be a campus Executive Assistant intimately involved in the future plan- ning and budgeting for the campus. This function would preclude past problems arising from budget constraints in im- plementing new programs; - would be responsible for the timetable and room allocations on each campus; - would participate in the selection of faculty and staff for each campus; - would endeavour to provide the best learning environment possible on his/her campus . Our desire is to create a neighbourhood campus, a forum for community issues. We believe that citizens have a right to expect a recognized and an accented leader in education on each campus. He/ she would be a person who becomes acquain- ted with and understands local problems and aspirations, one who can evolve a long range campus plan to satisfy these needs. We wish to maintain the vision of a true community college, one of communal familiarity”.
