GOVERNMENT EMPLOYEES’ UNION (AN AFFILIATE OF THE CANADIAN LABOUR CONGRESS) January 16th 1975 \ Mr. Pat Keenan, | | President, Douglas College Local 62, B.C.G.8.U. | Dear Pat: Further to our telephone conversation of earlier today, regarding the status of Douglas College Employees who are covered by our recently granted Certification. 7 Attached please find photocopies of extracts taken from the Labour Code of British Columbia Act, specifically Section 46 (a) and Section 61 (1) (c) As you can see, the wording is self-explanatory, and clearly spells out the restrictions on changes in salary and working conditions, for the period from the granting of Certification to the coming into effect of a Contract. It would be our position, that no Smployees, covered by the Local 62 Certification, should, individually, or collectively, take part in any meetings with the College Administration, to discuss salaries, or changes in working conditions, without the express permission of the Local 62 Executive. Also, if any reclassifications are being processed on behalf of our members, the College Administration should immediately advise, and involve the Local 62 Executive, and certainly obtain our approval before any salary changes are implemented. Staff Representative. Please address all communications to the General Secretary. 4925 CANADA WAY, BURNABY 2, B.C. / TELEPHONE (604) 291-9611 S|
