The 35-member Pacific Symphonic Wind
Ensemble will start off the evening with a wide
repertoire including some space-age pieces like
Close Encounters and Star Wars at 6:30 P.M.
This professional concert band is composed of
musicians drawn from the Vancouver Symphony
Orchestra, the Vancouver Opera Association,
Atlantic Symphony, Edmonton Symphony, the
(.B.C., music educators and graduate music
students from throughout the Lower Mainland.

A few ‘cosmic surprises are planned for those
in attendance.

1. The applicant rust be a full-time student
and a letter, from the institution concerned,
confirming this must accompany the
application.

2. The applicant must be 19 years of age or

Bookstore Hours

The Bookstore will be open extended hours for
the Spring 1986 semester as follows:

Monday, January 13 through Thursday, January
16, 9:30 A.M, to 7:30 P.M.

Friday, January 17: 9:30 A.M. to 4:00 P.M.

Monday, January 20: 9:30 A.M. to 7:30 P.M.

Tuesday, January 21 through Friday, January 24:

9:30 A.M. to 4:00 P.M.

In addition to the above extended hours the
Bookstore will be open on Fridays during
January and February from 9:30 A.M. to
4:00 P.M.

Committee Vacancy

At the December 11, 1985 meeting of the
Educational Policy and Planning Committee,

a nomination for the Member at Large - Faculty
vacancy on the Committee was received,

Silvia McFayden Jones nominated, duly seconded
by Lorna Kirkham, Gert van Niekerk for the
position.

If any further nominations are received, an
election for the position will be organized. If
no further names are put forward, Mr. van
Niekerk will be named Member at Large -
Faculty.

Big Brothers’ Bowl for Millions

Il have been approached by the Big Brothers
organization to once again put together a
couple of teams for their annual "Bowl for
Millions" fundraiser.

We have been tentatively scheduled to bowl! on
Wednesday, February 12th at 5:00 P.M. at the
Lucky Strike Lanes on Twelfth Street in

New Westminster.

Those of us who participated last year had alot
of fun and were able to raise $450.00 for Big
Brothers. Anyone interested in participating
