THE OOVERNMENT OF THE PROVINCE OF BRITISH COLUMBIA OFFICE:OP VICTORIA COMMISSIONER OF EDUCATION BRITISH COLUMBIA December 10, 1973 To All Groups in the Community Colleges; Administrators, Faculty, Staff, Students, Council and Principal Dear Colleagues: The Task Force of the Community College is in the process of developing a Working Paper on Community Colleges within its terms of reference, : We are sending material related to the Task Force's terms of reference and public process to all segments of the college community. (Please see attached Public Process Summary). We urge that consideration be given to how all segments not only of the college cormiunity but also of the wider community might participate in the public process of the College Task Force. Wwe hope that community colieges will provide leadership within their regions in stim- ulatiig wider discussicn of their future roles and relationships, Members of the Task Force have been contacting responsible bodies within the colleges to assure that Task Force sub-committee visits in the period January 14-23 will engender the frankest possible discussion. At these initial meetings the sub-committee is interested in listening to the chief concerns of various segments of the college community and also asking a number of specific questions. More information regarding possible questions and other matters related to the sub-committce visits will be sent in the fol lowing weeks. I thank you for your cooreration in this and other matters.
