Day President Douglas College P.O. Box 2503 New Westminster, B.C. V3L 5B2 Dear Mr. Day: I am writing in my capacity as Chair of the Department's Student Standards and Recruitment Committee to ask for your assistance in identifying prospective applicants for our doctoral program in educational administration. The requirements of the Ph.D. program are sufficiently flexible to permit candidates to prepare further for either an administrative or an academic career. Although we are particularly interested in applicants who have a strong academic record at the Master's level, the admission decision is based on criteria relevant to success in a specific career as well as in a graduate program. Candidates who intend to pursue an administrative career may orient their programs to one of the levels of the educational system, either K-12 or postsecondary education. Those who wish to prepare for an academic career have the opportunity to specialize in one of the established areas of administrative studies. A form to facilitate responding to this request is enclosed; please photocopy if you wish to nominate more than one person. Many thanks for considering this request; | shall look forward to the possibility of hearing from you. Sincerely, Erwin Miklos Professor Enc. EM/tlw
