FIRST AID AT DOUGLAS COLLEGE The College has two trained First Aid Attendants on campus from 0830 - 1630 hours weekdays. These First Aid attendants hold Industrial First Aid tickets in accordance with the Worker's Compensation Board Regulations. They do not occupy the first aid room on a full-time basis. As First Aid Attendants, they are available to staff, faculty, administration or students for BMERGENCY situations or related accidents or injuries which occur at the College. First Aid Attendants are not a substitute for medical appointments with physicians or for treating employees who have ongoing medical problems. Procedures To Follow in Case Of Emergency (0830 - 1630 Hours) 1. Ensure safety of injured individual. © 2. Send someone for help, or if alone, locate nearest campus telephone (College phones will have stickers with emergency informa- tion). 3. Dial 6060 or 7070 for First Aid Attendant. 4. Return to the injured individual until help arrives. 5. The First Aid Attendant will either treat the problem or refer you to a hospital or physician. If an ambulance is required, the Attendant will make the arrangements and will remain with you until it arrives. 6. If you are unable to contact a First Aid Attendant and there is a LIFE THREATENING SITUATION CALL the Ambulance at 872-5151. VANCOUVER YOUNG ARTISTS - 1986 An exhibit of eight, young, Vancouver artists will be mounted in the Simon Fraser Gallery beginning | Monday, June 9th Through Firday, June 27th. The Group of Artists, who have exhibited success- fully in Vancouver and in various Canadian galleries, bring to the show a wide range of style, ideology, medium and genre. From the Modern sculpture of steel, glass, wood and sand by Alan Storey, to the oil and acrylic landscapes of Linsley, Catton and Perry; the show promises to be a host of contrasts. The public is invited to view this stimulating exhibit of contemporary art in Vancouver, between the hours of 1:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. on Mondays and 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday thru Friday. STAFF P.D. DAY A SUCCESS Staff P.D. Day 1986 was a success. All sessions were well attended and overall the feedback for the workshops was extremely positive. Several of our guest speakers commented on what a good audience the Douglas College staff members were, We would like to thank all those who gave usa hand in organizing the day. We would also welcome comments or suggestions that might be useful to next year's committee. Just a reminder too that the C.P.R. Heartsaver session will be held on Thursday, June 12th from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in room 1803.
