Hatter A Douglas College Newslett eR OR a ma Monday, March 10, 1980 om nae HIGH SCHOOL LIAISON ARCHIVES Beginning March 1, 1980 a Douglas College Counsellor will be released full-time for three months to increase the awaréness of high school counsellors in the region of the range of offerings and opportunities at the College in university transfer and general education courses and programs. In addition, this counsellor will be informing high school counsellors and students of the advantages of a Community College educa- tion and will be providing accurate and current information to counsellors and students on university transfer and general education courses. One of the ways that this will be done is that the counsellor will organize visits of Douglas College faculty to high schools in the region. We will know who this counsellor will be within a week's time. In the interim, any faculty members having an interest in participating in this project are encouraged to get in touch with Dave Ayers, Director of’ . Counselling and Student Services on the Coquitlam (Essondale) campus. ee Dave Ayers, -Director of Counselling and Student Services SUMMER YOUTH EMPLOYMENT PROGRAM The job creation Branch of the Canada Employment and Immigration Commission is once again sponsoring a Summer Youth Employment Program for. students from May - September of 1980. People who are interested in sponsoring or organizing a project are urged to apply before the deadline date of Wednes- day, March 19, 4:30 pm. Projects created by this program must provide students with employment opportunities that complement their present education or future academic goals. Applications are available at Student Placement in NW, Loc. 269.
