RE: Canadian Petroleum Association Slide Show
and Talk Presentation: "Management Insight
and Field Environmental Activities in the
Petroleum Industry."

S.P.E.C. will host a slide show and talk presentation by the Canadian
Petroleum Association on the subject "Management Insight and Field Environmental
Activities in the Petroleum Industry." We cordially invite you, and members
of your staff ta attend.

The presentation will be given in Lecture Hall No. 4 at the University
of British Columbia Instructional Resources Centre, sancouver, B.C., 8:00 p.m.,
October 24, 1974.

The presentation will be given by four representatives from Mobil Oil
Canada, Ltd., who are actively involved in designing and carrying out environmental
programs for their company. The presentation will deal with the broader aspects
of environmental management, field management, impact assessment of an oil
pipeline system and a joint industry/forestry oil spill equipment deployment
exercise on the Chinchaga River in N.1. Alberta.

The purpose of the presentation is to provide an opportunity for
concerned and interested persons to learn, firsthand, from industry field
operating personnel about their environmental programs. The presentation will
give industry personnel an opportunity to hear and discuss, how other interests
view our society's environmental problems. Through this type of direct exchange
both industry and ourselves expect to develop permanent communication channels
in which we can identify common environmental objectives, priorities, and not
let our differences destroy environmental progress.
