for the WomenSpeak Institute. The
gala, which celebrates Women’s History
Month, will be held on October 21 at 8pm
at the Performing Arts Theatre.
In addition to Ulrich, the evening

Opening the season at the
Amelia Douglas Gallery will be
Urban Primitives by Michael
Mancuso, which runs until
Sept. 30.

Using vivid colors in his
paintings, Mancuso offers a
surreal voyage through urban
and natural West Coast scenes.
Meet the artist at the opening
reception, 3:45-6:30pm on
September 9 in the gallery.

The free Noon at New West
Concert Series is on Thursdays
at 12:30 pm. Pianist Barrie
Barrington is featured
September 22. Eric Wilson
(cello) and Ellen Silverman
perform on September 29.
