CONTRACT SERVICES DOUGLAS COLLEGE POLICY: _ ARCHIVES All Departments of Douglas College may provide services on a contract or fee for service basis, in addition to those services funded under the public mandate of the College, and not to their detriment. All existing College curricula can be made available on a contract or fee for service basis. DEFINITION: Contracted services are activities which are provided on a cost recovery basis using funds generated from the contract or contracts. Contract services are not funded from the normal operating budget of the College. These services may include, but are not necessarily limited to, needs assessment, program planning and curriculum develop- ment, formal and informal instruction and evaluation. REGULATIONS: rT The Dean of Community Programs and Services is the formal staff officer responsible for all contracts for services offered by Douglas College. 2. The identification, negotiation, and provision of contracted services, may be carried out by departmental chairmen/directors in consultation with, and with the approval of, the appropriate Dean and the Dean of Community Programs and Services. During the negotiation of specific contracts, the Deans involved must be kept informed of all proposals made on behalf of Douglas College. 36 Contracts and proposals will normally include such items as budgets, staffing plans and curriculum. The Deans will work with the departments in establishing the specifics of such items as required. The Bursar's Office will be consulted on financial and personnel matters during the development of contract proposals.
